To be successful in this role, the idea candidate will possess the following skills/experience:

To be successful in this role, the idea candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
• Design and develop software programs for PLC, Servo, and Robotic applications specific to customer and project requirements.
• Debug and commission control systems at our facility during the system integration stage and then at the customer site during installation.
• Travel as required to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties.
• Select test and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors vision system and lasers
• Work with other member of Controls Engineering department and other groups to continuously improves methods of integrating controls technology, with the goals being enhanced functionality, and reduced cost.
• Work with customers, projects managers, designers, toolmakers and electricians to solve problems in order to provide the customers with a complete, functional automation system
• Provide through testing of machine functionality to verify software program completeness
• Provide accurate documentation for each project
• Advise customers on solving technical problems
• Provide customers with training specific to their current project (i.e., Machine operation, programming)

Job Description:

• Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required in varying timeline
• Ensure scheduled milestone are met
• Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not projected to be met by expected due dates

• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards

Experience and Education:
• A post -secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering
• 3-5 years of experience with systems integration and programming within the automation industry with proven track record
• Strong programming, mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills
• Experience in Robotics, controls system and machine operation
• Experience in Automation will be considered an asset
