To be successful in this role, the idea candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
- Ability to identify individual components and use them to create sub-assemblies for automated equipment
- Assemble, fit, align, plumb, and integrate work cells that may include pneumatics and hydraulics, electrical sensing components, power transmission systems, conveyor systems and feeder systems
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings including pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, BOMs, and detailed assembly drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot, service, and perform required repairs to automation equipment
- Must be proficient in the operation and setup of conventional machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, and hand tools to modify or alter components as required
- In process and final part verification including dimensional, part features (using GD&T), surface finishes to drawing specifications using shop measurement tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, Indicators etc.)
Job Description:
- Requires a practical working knowledge of the operation of all toolroom equipment.
- Machine details, applying tolerances on prints, understand GD & T and where to apply.
- Must be able to recognize function and relationship of all details within assemblies.
Take direction from Floor supervisor and senior co-workers
- Support the needs of the manufacturing department when questions arise.
- Ensure that all print updates are being completed.
- Proceed with floor assembly according to floor plan layout, assembling the job in a safe and proper order according to procedures, providing the other departments with the tooling needed to accomplish their tasks according to the schedule.
- Run the entire line with team and others to check functionality of operator stations, operator interface, loading and unloading areas and guarding for ease of maintenance.
- Perform rework efficiently to ensure minimal impact to budget and schedule.
- Ensure that all rework is properly recorded.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
- Experience with use of a forklifts
- Proceed with floor assembly according to floor plan layout, assembling the job in a safe and proper order according to procedures, providing the other departments with the tooling needed to accomplish their tasks according to the schedule.
Experience and Education:
- 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Millwright Apprentice, or Tool & Die Maker
- Machine Tool Builder, and Integrator with demonstrated equivalent experience in an automation/ manufacturing role.
- 2+ years of experience
- Previous experience with 3D modeling software is an asset
