Privacy policy
Last updated 21 September 2026
Ethos Automation Inc. respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We are a custom automation and machine building company. We do not sell advertising, we do not sell personal information, and we have no interest in collecting more than we need to answer your enquiry.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you use the contact form we collect what you enter: your name, email address, phone number, company name, the type of project, its stage, and your message. If you email or phone us directly, we hold whatever you choose to share.
If you apply for a role through the careers section, we collect the information you submit as part of that application.
You choose what to send us. You can decline to provide any of it, though we may not be able to answer a question without a way to reach you.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our hosting provider records standard technical information: browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you viewed, and the site or search that referred you. This keeps the site working and shows us which pages are useful. It is not used to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or store payment information, government identification, or any special category of personal data through this website.
Cookies
The site uses cookies necessary for it to function. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or warn you when one is sent. Parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and continue the conversation
- To assess and respond to job applications
- To keep records of what was discussed and agreed on a project
- To maintain and improve this website
We do not use your information for automated decision making, and we do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with Ethos staff who need it to answer you or manage your project, including colleagues at our Mexico operation; with service providers who run systems on our behalf, such as website hosting, email and business software, and who may process it only as we instruct; and with anyone we are legally required to share it with.
Cross-border storage. Ethos operates in Canada and Mexico, and some service providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where information is held in another country it may be accessible to that country’s courts and law enforcement under that country’s laws.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and project correspondence for as long as we have a working relationship with you or your company, and afterwards for as long as we need it for business and legal record keeping. Job application material is retained for a reasonable period after the role is filled, in case another opportunity suits, unless you ask us to delete it.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of the information we hold. Access inside Ethos is limited to people who need it for their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a valid reason to keep
- Withdraw consent for us to contact you
- Complain if you think we have handled your information improperly
Write to the address below and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires. There is no charge for a reasonable request. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Links to other sites
This site links to other organisations, including robot manufacturers, industry publications and our social media profiles. This policy does not cover those sites and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear rather than buried.
