Where we are going
Vision
To be the partner manufacturers trust with their hardest automation problems, and the company people are proud to build a career at.
About us
We are manufacturing professionals who came out of Tier 1 automotive. Engineers, programmers, designers, and technical experts who wanted to make automation easier to install, easier to maintain, and easier to live with.
Turnkey factory automation systems, custom machines and complete production lines. Designed, built, programmed and commissioned in house, in Canada and Mexico.

WHERE WE CAME FROM
We came out of Tier 1 automotive, running production lines built by somebody else. We know what it is like to inherit a machine designed by people who never had to maintain it, to wait on an integrator who has moved on to the next job, and to work around a fault at 2am because the documentation does not go that deep.
That experience is the reason Ethos exists, and it is why our design decisions keep coming back to the same question: what will this be like to own in year five?
Because of a strong design background and years spent inside plants rather than only inside CAD, we build automation that is practical to install, straightforward to maintain, and honest about what it can do.
Ethics are at the core of how we operate. That is why we chose the name Ethos.
Where we are going
To be the partner manufacturers trust with their hardest automation problems, and the company people are proud to build a career at.
Why we exist
We design and build custom automation and machinery that solve our customers’ toughest manufacturing challenges, delivered by a team that treats every project and every relationship as its own.
Values
Six commitments we hold each other to, in the order we agreed them.
We treat customers and coworkers like people who matter, not numbers. The personal touch is why people stay with us.
If you see it, you own it. We do not wait to be told or pass it up the chain, we follow problems through to the end.
We debate hard in the room, then speak with one voice to the customer. No silos, no “not my department.”
We hold our standard even when it is slower or harder, and even when no one is checking. Our name is on every machine we ship.
We share the truth early, good news or bad. No surprises for customers, and fairness and respect for everyone inside.
We share what we know, welcome new ideas, and learn out loud from mistakes. The best idea wins, no matter who it comes from.
Capabilities
TWO COUNTRIES. ONE TEAM.
70,000 square feet of design, build, integration and commissioning. A machine shop, welding and fabrication with a paint booth, our own panel shop, and the machines you see in the photography on this site.
Full design, build and integration capability. Not a back office and not engineering support. A second operation that can take a project end to end.
For manufacturers weighing where their next line gets built, that matters. It means Ethos can put engineering close to your plant on either side of the border, and it means capacity that does not depend on one building.
HOW WE WORK
Mechanical design, controls, robotics, fabrication, panel building, assembly, and commissioning are all in-house. The person who designed your tooling is reachable when it is being commissioned.
Bad news does not improve with age. If a date is at risk or a design assumption turns out to be wrong, you hear it when we know, not at the review.
Your PLC platform, your safety standard, your network, your tag conventions. We build to what your plant already runs.
The team that built your machine is the team that answers when you call about it.
Our team
Engineers, mechanical and electrical designers, controls professionals, builders, and the people who keep it all connected.
100 people across two countries. 90 in Brantford, 10 in Puebla. See open roles

Chief Executive Officer
Jeff brings 32 years in advanced manufacturing and automation, with deep expertise in controls, quality and operations across the automotive, medical, packaging, nuclear and EV sectors. He started as a controls systems project manager and built his foundation the hard way, through three apprenticeships, before moving into executive leadership. He joined Ethos as General Manager and stepped into the CEO role in 2026.

Co-Founder and Operations Manager
Peter co-founded Ethos and runs its operations, from the first design review to the day a machine ships. A licensed Professional Engineer with a degree from McMaster, his decade in industry spans mechanical design in energy and then process engineering and project management at Magna. That time on the production side shapes how Ethos works: every machine is designed around how the plant will actually run it, not just around the drawing. Peter was named a Top 10 Under 40 in manufacturing.

Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Calvin co-founded Ethos and sets its technical direction. He started on the maintenance side at Magna, keeping production equipment running, and that is where Ethos gets its focus on design for maintainability: machines built so the people who service them can reach what they need and get the line back up fast. When a build runs into a problem nobody has solved before, he is the one the team turns to. Calvin was named a Top 10 Under 40 in manufacturing.

Director of Sales and Marketing
Richard has spent more than 25 years in the automotive industry supporting leading OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers across North America. Over 20 years in automation and advanced manufacturing, 25 in tooling, process and quality driven development, and more than 15 in operations management. For the last decade he has focused on finding the change that actually moves a manufacturer's numbers.

General Manager, Ethos Automation Mexico
Edgar leads Ethos Automation Mexico from Puebla, owning operations, sales and project execution from design through commissioning. He has spent a decade on the commercial and delivery side of industrial automation across the Puebla region, and led the industrial automation business at Fiuntek for nearly four years before joining Ethos. Over that career he has sold more than 250 automation and engineering projects.
