To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
Prior experience with machine tools and industrial machines
Have excellent knowledge of material properties
Experience with ERP systems
Professional knowledge of safety protocols when operating machines
Ability to lead a team
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Quality workmanship, efficiency, and ability to work independently
Keep an organized workspace
Troubleshoot breakdowns (Aptitude for Problem Solving)
Job Description:
Run a variety of manual and cnc mills to create parts of various complexity
Make cnc programs on FUSION 360
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ensure quality parts are produced by employees
Use ERP System to track and release work
Teaching employees where to find files to get more work
Assist with training of Jr Machinist
Leading the machine shop, and welding team
Performance review and development planning
Ordering of raw materials
Determining when to send workout or keep in-house
Creating work instruction and procedures
Use a variety of power tools – deburring equipment
Experience and Education:
Certificate of Qualifications for General Machinist or Tool Die Maker
Equivalent experience in an automation/manufacturing environment
Solidworks an asset
Mastercam an asset
Experience in an Automation environment will be preferred
Leadership experience preferred
