Job Description:
- Actively engage in customer RFQ review sessions, whether on-site with clients or within our facilities.
- Develop innovative cell layout drawings tailored to various RFQ requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison among mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and assembly manufacturing teams, providing technical guidance and assisting with labor and material cost estimates.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate estimates for key materials and equipment, crucial for budget and proposal preparation.
- Design efficient and functional equipment layouts.
- Assist in formulating the technical deliverables list and schedule for the entire project, including interface lists.
- Draft comprehensive technical specifications to meet project needs.
- Provide technical oversight throughout the engineering, procurement, and assembly phases.
- Identify potential technical risks, assess their impact, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop detailed specifications and cost estimates to support project goals.
- Offer proactive design support for integrated components and complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Work alongside internal and external design and technology teams to develop unique specifications and applications.
- Ensure adherence to project budgets and timelines as set by the Applications Manager.
- Prepare initial budget and quotation proposals for review with the Applications Manager, Business Development Manager, and Leadership Team.
- Participate in review meetings, addressing issues as directed by the Applications Manager.
- Proactively identify and resolve problems, assisting in troubleshooting and evaluating outcomes.
- Facilitate early-stage conflict resolution to maintain a positive work environment.
- Foster positive relationships with internal customers, partners, vendors, and distributors.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of proposals and compliance with internal procedures.
- Inform the Applications Manager promptly if project milestones are at risk.
- Adhere to Company ISO Standards, ensuring high-quality processes.
- Promote safe product and process concepts that prioritize environmental and ergonomic safety for all personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate information sharing within the company.
- Support the Ethos corporate vision by being an exemplary corporate citizen.

- Represent the company at community and business events to enhance its reputation.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as required.
- Expect to travel up to 20% of the time, with the potential for more in exceptional project circumstances.
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in applications engineering within the Automation industry
- University degree or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics
- Ability to motivate teams to deliver high-quality proposals within tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; familiar with MS Office suite
- Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and equipment integration
- Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create engaging presentations to customers
